Colorado Highway 82: Aspen to Glenwood Springs

Drive America’s Highways for 40 miles west along Colorado Highway 82 from Aspen to Glenwood Springs.

We start the drive from Aspen to Glenwood Springs driving north on Original Street in Aspen. Several blocks later, the road turns west to become Main Street as we drive through the commercial center of Aspen before turning briefly north again as CO-82 becomes 7th St. Two blocks later, we turn west onto Hallam St for a few blocks before reaching the west side of town at a traffic circle.

Continuing northwest on Colorado Highway 82, we leave Aspen as we pass the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport. Following the Roaring Fork River, we continue northwest to pass through Woody Creek before reaching the community of Snowmass, where we make a quick fuel stop.

Resuming our drive to Glenwood Springs from Snowmass, we continue northwest to pass through Wingo, Basalt, and El Jebel. Turning generally west at El Jebel, we continue on highway 82 for about 7 miles to Carbondale where we cross the northern terminus of CO-133. Leaving Carbondale, we once again turn northwest for our final 9-mile push into Glenwood Springs. Entering Glenwood Springs from the south, we continue into town for about a mile to the intersection with Blake Ave, where we end the video at a traffic light.

Special thanks to @crosscountytravelers for the footage.
